Ring with two-headed serpent from Oplontis ( Pompeii ), inspired by the original ring from the 1st century. BC, kept at the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

In Roman religion, the serpent-shaped Genius (lat. Genius) was the benevolent guardian spirit of the fate of families but also of individuals. A Pompeii the serpent represented fertility and sexuality. Serpent body rings linked to the protective deities of health were very widespread at the time Roman.
